Google Voice Improvements

I have been using this service for some time now and it is working out very well for me. If you do not currently have this service then request an invite from Google today. Recently Google added the ability to play your messages directly within GMail with little or no effort on your part. As well just a couple days ago Google added the ability to receive and reply to SMS messages via email. Here are a few features: Unified messaging – You can get SMS together with email and voicemail notifications, all in one place in your email inbox, …

Gr-apple-fest is on in the Mobile Industry!

This is a must read for those who are interested in the iPhone saga.. It appears that Apple is waging war in the mobile industry… and there’s some questions as to whether or not they’re playing fair. Apple first lashed out at the popular open source hack for the iPhone, called Jailbreak, stating that the Jailbreak application violated Apple’s copyright. Huh? iPhone owners might be stunned to find out that Apple thinks that, even though you bought your phone, they should maintain control over what you do to it. myTouch Applications: Round One

Android  was built from the ground-up to enable developers to create compelling mobile applications that take full advantage of all a handset has to offer. It was built to be truly open. For example, an application can call upon any of the phone’s core functionality such as making calls, sending text messages, or using the camera, allowing developers to create richer and more cohesive experiences for users. Android is built on the open Linux Kernel. Furthermore, it utilizes a custom virtual machine that was designed to optimize memory and hardware resources in a mobile environment. Picked Up The T-Mobile MyTouch

Today I picked up the MyTouch and I absolutely love this phone. It is a much welcomed replacement to my previous phone which was the 8320 Blackberry Curve and to tell the truth the Blackberry while is still in great condition and sports Wi-Fi, I was none the less ready for a touch screen device. I love the fact that all of my favorite Google application can run on this phone with HTC, Google, or T-Mobile telling me what I can and cannot install on my device. I am free to do as I wish and not like the iPhone …

Apple Has The FCC Asking Questions

I previously wrote that Apple rejected Google Voice and now the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has contacted Apple, AT&T, and Google seeking detailed reasons concerning this rejection. It is very interesting in the fact that not only is the FCC asking about the decision from Apple concerning Google Voice but they are asking about other VOIP applications in general. The FCC is also seeking clear and direct answers on how the decision is made on approving and rejecting applications. This should make for some very interesting news in this area and I for one am very interested in the outcome. I have …

Apple picks up the iPhone and tells Google to go away

It seems while Apple has always been on the cutting edge when it comes to the iPhone and I find the news that Apple rejected the Google Voice application submission to be disturbing. I am not an iPhone owner and from my point of view I am glad I am not! If I am going to put out the money for the purchase of the iPhone and pay the monthly service fees to AT&T then I darn well be able to install what application I want without mom and dad (Apple and AT&T) no! Now it you turn to the …

Save your cell phone minutes with Google Voice

I am a long time consumer of T-Mobile and for the most part I have been happy with this provider. In this article I will explain how you can add you Google voice number as a T-Mobile myFav and save on your cell phone minutes. Now if you stop for a moment and think about it this is no different than adding your best friend as a myFav. In essence all calls to and from the Google Voice number are now free and do not count against your minutes… Sound to good to be true? Well it is not. Once you …
