As many of you may know I am a disabled Veteran and you may have heard about the document Your Life Your Choices which you should take the time to read.
It angers me to no end about the checklist with the questions contained on page 21. Take a close look at this and you will clearly see that 50% of the answers lead one to determine they would be better off dead. Now, I am not saying one should not plan for medical emergencies. In fact, I have a living well myself that I had a lawyer complete after discussions between myself and my family, not myself and the Federal Government. Take time and speak to a Veteran about the quality of care they receive from this program and you may be alarmed upon what you here. I hear arguments that the Government program will allow everyone access to health needs and while this may be true are you willing to wait months for an MRI or any other procedure? In the meantime you can simply turn to this handy checklist and say I am in great pain and my life just not worth living. What does this really represent?

Health Care
As I set here and write this post it just seems to me this is simply a bad idea. What’s next? Will private life insurance policies have the Federal Government step in any put in place controls where a life insurance policy pays out no matter the cause of death? With our country’s debt could we be looking at a possibility that amendments will be put into place when a doctor makes the decision that you have lived a full life and the cost of the health care would not be cost effective for the years you have remaining? I think this is a possibility once healthcare is mandated by the Government. Think about this.
I realize my opinions may be scary but the point I am attempting make is when the door to our life’s is opened and the Government walks in how do I then close that door? Remember, these are our elected leaders, so make your voice heard!
